Area Interests
We’re located halfway between Savannah, Ga., -- known for its history, art and ghost stories -- and Augusta, Ga., home of the famous Masters Golf Tournament. Screven County is bordered by two rivers; the Savannah River separates Georgia and South Carolina, and the Ogeechee River is the dividing line between Screven and Bulloch counties. These two rivers draw visitors interested in water sports including boating, fishing and kayaking. If you’d rather take to the air and try sky-diving, we can help arrange that, too! Screven County is also home to Taylor Farm Kennels, known nationwide for its training of high-end gun dogs. We’re also conveniently located near Georgia Southern University, a 25-minute drive away. History buffs can visit the site of the Battle of Brier Creek, a Revolutionary War battle that took place on the Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area. Car racing fans might enjoy a visit to the Screven Motorsports Complex.
